Historical Notes: Louisa Rothfus is an heir of German descendants. Her father, John Rothfuss, (German spelling) entered the U.S. at age 15 at Ellis Island. He married Wilhelmina in 1906. They operated the Sourdough Gold Mine, which John discovered, (located NE of Elkhorn through Elkhorn, MT). It was later incorporated by Golden Curry, Inc. Consolidated Mine Co. The Rothfuses also operated the boarding house in Elkhorn. Louisa is the youngest of 4 children (now 92) and was educated at Central School and the old Helena High School on Warren St. The family lived at 616 N. Ewing while the children attended school. Louisa worked in Boise and Pittsburgh, then finally 35 years as secretary for lawyer Bob Corrette of Butte who represented the Union Pacific Railroad. Many of Louisa's pieces are family pieces.

The fine china pieces are from Jacquemin Jewelry, Helena (John Rothfus's mining partner), and glass canisters are from the Reinig Confectionary - both old Helena businesses. We hope you can join us to enjoy Louisa's collection.

Cato Butler along with Dora are an institution in Helena's history and need little introduction to Helena natives. Cato is our radio personality of longstanding and they are collectors in their own right. The Butlers are moving into a condo, thus needing to downsize.

The 1977 Lincoln was purchased new and maintained like a newborn baby. We know you'll enjoy the Butler collection.
